I sent a teapot into the kiln but pulled out another fairy garden ornament for the kids 🧚‍♀️ I clearly hadn't waxed the lid in the right places so it's firmly ensconced, some underglaze went on too thick and began to peel, and the rest was a bit patchy!

Lessons have been learned though, and notes taken. I have several ideas floating around to get into my idea notebook 💡

Stepped away from the clay this afternoon and enjoyed a Sunday Studio 🤩 Loved the Altered Books workshop thanks 🙏 So many ideas floating around my head. And my helpers are keen to help me finish this book.

Might be back to pottery updates tomorrow. Unless I'm glued to a book 😉

Someone asked me the other day what pottery projects I was working on. Until today, I hadn’t even touched clay this year!

But I scribbled an outline for what I’d like my pottery year to look like, made a list of ideas I’d like to test and have a couple of collabs in the pipeline!

I’ve also pencilled in a few small batch releases through the year – without putting any pressure on myself - and I have a plan to finish a couple of commission pieces in the coming weeks.

Tomorrow, I hope to tackle a few test projects. And before I feel guilty about buying any more clay, I’ve finally tackled the 20L slop bucket that’s been hanging out in the middle of the laundry floor and started to reclaim the mishmash of various mid-fire clays.

Here’s hoping for a slow, whimsical and contented year full of handmade happiness.
