The short answer: not necessarily. Dark flooring doesn’t collect more dust, but the colour and finish of your floor can affect what is more visible between cleans.

Several factors influence how your floor looks day to day:
• Colour variation – Floors with natural tones, grain and variation can help disguise everyday dust and dirt compared with a very uniform surface.
• Finish – Matte and textured finishes are often more forgiving than smooth, high-gloss surfaces.
• Lighting – Natural light can highlight different colours, textures and details throughout the day.
• Lifestyle – The best flooring choice depends on how your home is used, including foot traffic, pets and family life.

Dark flooring can create a sophisticated, timeless look. The key is choosing a colour and finish that suits both your style and the way you live.

Not sure which flooring is the right fit for your home? Visit your local Flooring Design store and let our team help you choose with confidence.

Modern hard flooring offers more acoustic comfort than many people expect.

The amount of sound a floor produces depends on several factors:
• The flooring material – Hybrid, vinyl, laminate, timber and tile all absorb and reflect sound differently.
• The underlay – A quality acoustic underlay can significantly reduce impact noise and improve comfort underfoot.
• The installation method – Floating floors and direct-stick installations can produce different sound characteristics.
• Your home – Soft furnishings like rugs, curtains and upholstered furniture help absorb sound, while large open spaces with hard surfaces naturally create more echo.

If reducing noise is important to you, there are flooring options specifically designed with acoustic performance in mind.

The right combination of flooring and underlay can make a noticeable difference, giving you the look of hard flooring without excessive noise.

Visit your local Flooring Design store and discover the flooring options designed for the way you live.
