✨ Shards of Story – The Mosaics of Sue Wallace
KOAST 2025 – Rhythm of the North at Little Black Gallery
Fifteen years ago a weekend workshop sparked a lifelong passion. Sue Wallace has been creating mosaics ever since, weaving together fragments of old china, recycled ceramics, stained glass, and beads into tactile works full of colour and character.
Living rurally in Ōkaihau, Sue draws inspiration from farmland and coastline, the birds and animals around her, and her own garden where many pieces live among the flowers. Each mosaic is crafted to be cherished – whether a one-off artwork or a private commission made with personal meaning.
Sue is currently building a new home studio to host lessons and workshops. She has sold at markets across Northland and Auckland, and now focuses on online sales and commissions.
See Sue’s work at Little Black Gallery (Stop 42) this Labour Weekend as part of Rhythm of the North.
