May has been a beautiful reminder of why I choose to live and work on the Kapiti Coast.

I feel very fortunate to be based in this special part of New Zealand. It offers the best of both worlds: the calm and clarity of coastal living, with easy access to clients across Wellington, Auckland, and beyond.

Being only a five-minute walk from the beach is more than a lifestyle perk. It is part of how I work - creating space to think, reset, refine ideas, and bring a considered eye to every project.

With Paraparaumu Airport nearby, travel to Auckland is simple for visiting clients and suppliers. From Paraparaumu Beach, we are also well placed to work with clients throughout Wellington and the wider region.

Interior design does not mean everything has to be expensive to create a beautiful home.

I found these cushion covers and cups during a sourcing trip in Auckland, and the total came to less than $50. Creating a beautiful interior is not always about the price tag, but about knowing how to bring pieces together in a way that feels layered, cohesive, and inviting.

One of the things I love most about interior design is seeing the potential in pieces and understanding how they can work together to elevate a space. With my background in styling and my eye for detail, I enjoy creating homes that feel refined, personal, and thoughtfully curated.

Timeless design is enduringly beautiful.

At D for Design, this powder room was thoughtfully curated as a seamless continuation of the home’s modern Art Deco design story. Each element — from the wallpaper and tapware to the tiles, toilet, and lighting — was carefully selected to honour and elevate this classic style.

The same striking wallpaper was carried through to the grand entrance, creating a cohesive statement and setting a refined tone within our client’s Art Deco home in Kelburn, Wellington.

A look back at our Kelburn Art Deco project — a home rich in character, personal history, and thoughtful detail.

We had the pleasure of integrating our clients’ treasured Murano chandeliers, collected during their travels through Italy, alongside beautifully inherited antique furniture. Their love of pink, combined with the home’s original Art Deco features, created a distinctive and expressive foundation for the design.

Bespoke rugs, carefully curated furnishings, and custom-designed joinery brought a sense of cohesion and balance, while the wallpaper added an extra layer of dimension and depth to the overall scheme.

It was truly a pleasure to create this warm, elegant and deeply personal home for our wonderful clients.

This home office beautifully reflects that French influence.

Bespoke cabinetry inspired by classic French design sits alongside carefully selected antique pieces — a Louis chair and ottoman, paired with a Queen Anne desk.

A glass chandelier adds softness and light, while an ornamental silver mirror brings a sense of elegance and history to the space.

It is a room that feels layered and considered, where old and new come together with ease.

For me, it all comes back to travelling and time spent in places like Paris — the details, the atmosphere, the way spaces feel lived in and collected over time. That influence naturally finds its way into my work 🤍
