To wrap up this project, the new double-glazed windows have finally arrived and installation is underway.

Today was the biggest milestone of the job—framing out the new opening, completing the exterior cladding, and installing this impressive 3.5m stacking slider. It’s amazing how much natural light and indoor-outdoor flow a window of this size creates.

We’re looking forward to getting the rest of the windows installed and putting the finishing touches on another great renovation.

Another wet week on site, with a few days of pouring rain, but we’re still making great progress.

The deck, retaining wall, and stairs are nearly complete on this stage of the build, and it’s all starting to come together.

Next up is a large custom pergola, spa enclosure, and then we’ll move onto the back of the house to finish off the exterior. After that, we’ve got two big weeks of retrofitting new double glazing.

It’s been a great project so far, and we can’t wait to show you the finished result. Stay tuned!

Another project coming together.

We’ve just completed this custom Garapa hardwood privacy wall, giving the outdoor space a clean, modern look while adding privacy and durability. Garapa is a great choice for New Zealand conditions, with its beautiful natural timber tones and long-lasting performance.

The deck is now complete, and the final touch is the frameless glass balustrade, which arrives tomorrow. We’ll be back next week to install it and finish the project off.

It’s always satisfying seeing a job come together from start to finish, and we can’t wait to share the completed result.

Hardie Monolithic Cladding Repair

This home had a significant water leak that required urgent attention. While the only long-term solution for many monolithic-clad homes is a full reclad with a cavity system, we understand that’s not always financially possible.

In this case, we’ve carried out a like-for-like repair using new building wrap, improved flashings, and correct detailing around the repaired area. While this won’t eliminate all of the risks associated with monolithic cladding, it is a substantial improvement over the original construction and will provide much better weather protection than what was there before.

Every home is different, and we always recommend the most practical solution based on the condition of the building and our client’s budget.
