“The Need to Grow” — what an amazing and inspiring film. 🌱

It really reminded me why I do what I do. For me it’s all about the future — our future and our kids future.

What I want for my kids is pretty simple really, but also really important. I want them to eat a good variety of fruits and veg, to actually get proper nutrition from their food, and to understand how we can turn waste into something useful again — like turning food waste back into healthy living soil.

Because when there is no food, nothing else really matters. We need good, nourishing food to build healthy bodies, strong communities, and a better future.

We all know things need to change. Sometimes it feels like a lot and a bit overwhelming, but even the small steps still count.

So let’s not wait around. Let’s keep growing, learning, sharing, and making changes — bit by bit. And most importantly, let’s just start today. 🌱💚

Can we feed the world without destroying it?! Rosario Dawson’s award-winning film The Need To GROW shows the SOLUTIONS — and the real stories of the game-changing innovators behind them.

Last winter I planted an almond tree and a chestnut tree… it honestly took me ages to decide what nut trees to put into such a limited space.

In the end, I figured—just plant what our family loves to eat 🌰

Yes, chestnuts come with those spiky shells 😅 but hey, we can always burn them off in the campfire while toasting marshmallows 🔥

And wow… even from a tiny little first harvest, the taste of fresh almonds made it so worth the wait.
(Also… why are they so hard to crack?! 😂)

Best time to plant a tree was 7 years ago… the next best time is NOW 🌱
