Melanie Lynskey’s LA home is such a good reminder that the most memorable spaces aren’t the “safe” ones — they’re the ones that feel personal.
It’s layered and lived-in. Bold colour. Beautiful pattern. Pieces with a bit of story. It doesn’t feel styled for resale… it feels styled for real life (and real joy).
And honestly? That’s the permission slip so many of us need. If you love colour, use it. If you love pattern, bring it in. If you’ve been talking yourself out of something because it’s “too much” — it might be exactly what makes your home feel like you.
I see this all the time: clients second-guessing the colour they adore because they’re worried about what a future buyer might think. But you’re the one living there now.
If resale value wasn’t a factor, what would you choose? A moody green? A dusty rose? A deep inky blue?
