Taking off from Rangiora, follow the Waimakariri river from its mouth to the Alps, land on Lake Kaniere and then onto Hokitika ( in the Icon A5).Take off will be about 2pm local NZ time. A bunch of screenshots from yesterday’s flight. The first is flying above Rakaia river and the rest are at Lake Coleridge. A very eventful flight. I actually flew under the Rakaia gorge bridge at Windwistle and then landed on Lake Coleridge before taking off and flying back for a pretty good landing at Rangiora.

Lukla airport, which is the airport you would use if you are intending to Everest. From here you would hike to the Everest base camp. From my flight there last Wednesday.

A slightly different flight this afternoon on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. I will be using the Icon A5, which is a small amphibian aircraft. Taking off from Ashburton, I’ll explore the Rakaia river, the Rakaia Gorge and then try to land on Lake Coleridge before going on direct to Rangiora.
