Cherie Dodds is supporting He Wāhi Toi!

Cherie Dodds is a Taranaki artist, living in Stratford. Even while studying a Bachelor of Arts in Art history and Philosophy and then working as a corporate manager, she couldn’t stay away from the paint brush. Becoming a parent has allowed more time to focus on artistic output.
She aims to evoke emotion in the viewer, often using the human form and flora, with confident lines and interesting shapes driving the narrative. She finds themes that enable her to put her heart into the work, needing the creative process to dwell on deep thoughts while creating something of beauty for the viewer.
