One of the greatest joys of pottery is sharing it with children.
One of my 8 year old gorgeous students drew this picture of me.
So flattered she made me so pretty. This just made my year.
Means a lot πŸ™

An inspiring weekend in Tamaki Makaurau of galleries, art, culture and catch ups with friends.
One of the many highlights was stumbling upon this epic Shane Cotton mural down at Britomart.
We also went to Frida and Diego exhibition, Robyn White at the Auckland gallery.
A once in a lifetime opportunity also to see a collection of Greek artifacts from the British Museum was nothing short of mind blowing.
Cool stuff happening in Auckland! Had an absolute blast.
Next time I'll stay longer, do more pottery tourism and get round to see more friends🏺🏺🏺🏺

I always looked up to potters who could make several of the same object and set that as a goal for myself.

So today, im feeling pretty chuffed to have made 8x plates (im anticipating some will crack) and 4x bowls which are pretty much the same.

Shoulders back, lean into challenges...i surprised myself today.

DM me if you are after a set of bowls or plates.

Next set is for home tho 😎

#4 of my element series, Planet is an impression of Earth.
Its colours are roughly the proportions of water, land and ice on our planet.
The symbols represent Earth.
This wheel-thrown beauty was made in two parts in white stoneware. Decorated w slip and sgrafitto.
The exhibition comes down on Thurs. Thanks all for coming to see the show.

Let me introduce you to Pheonix. My fire vessel is a stripped back interpretation w upright lugs...love them.they look like antenna. Continuing w the symbol theme, its collar is fire icons from runes and vikings. I feel like this one is another 'he'.

Plus another man in my life, thanks Andrew for your unwaivering support....throughout the making process for this exhibition and putting up w my ceramic obsession. I couldnt do this without you. Plus you looked so cute in your suit at the opening. 😁🏺😁🏺😁

Here's my Spirit vessel called Optimism.
One of the human traits I aim to nuture in myself and admire in others.
This jug form is designed to be over flowing. What you cant see from this image is that the lip is formed into the shape of a heart and its collar is adorned w symbols of things that lift my spirit. Arts, crafts, passion, future and love.
