It’s always an honor to know that our hand-blown glass cremation memorials are finding homes across the world.

This beautiful ocean-blue teardrop memorial and matching touchstone were lovingly created for a family in Alabama, preserving the memory of someone deeply cherished.

Whether you’re remembering a beloved person or treasured pet, we can create a unique memorial using a small portion of cremation ashes sent to us from anywhere in the world.

Each piece is individually handcrafted in our family-owned glassblowing studio in the heart of Ireland, where we carefully incorporate the ashes into molten glass to create a lasting tribute filled with love, memory, and meaning.

1300 Celsius to 30 in less than 30 seconds shows how blue is not blue until the glass is cool.

Up at 1300 the glass is a runny liquid and flows bright Orange. It’s not until while you sculpt the glass that other hues reveal themselves and not until below 500 that the result is true to color. Something we ourselves don’t see until the next day once the glass has completely cooled through the annealing/cooling process.

This is a sample of our Sphere Memorial and can be made in many different colors. The idea is to include your passed pets ashes into the glass and create a timeless keepsake for you to remember them by and cherish forever.

Warm Welcome to you if you have recently started following 👋

🔹 What is cremation glass??
Its about preserving a small amount of someones cremated remains(ashes) within hand-crafted, blown glass artwork.

🔹 Why might you do this?
Its a strong way to celebrate the personalities and lives of pets and people no longer with you. It brings their memory into the light, so often hidden away in a dusty drawer, and draws them into your daily life by keeping your glass memorial somewhere nearby and insight so you can interact with it.

🔹 How does it work?
Well, we take some time to meet you and to hear about the person or personality behind the memorial. There are some design and colour choices for you to consider that best reflect their attributes and legacy, then we keep 1 teaspoon of ashes.

The magic happens in our quite, rural glassblowing studio in central Ireland where our furnace melts high quality, silica glass to 1200C. Your ashes are sifted and layered into the molten glass while it is being shaped, like you see in the photos below. You have seen some glassblowing in Italy or on Netflix! The techniques are ancient and the process is 100% Hand Crafted.

The final keepsake is cooled for 2 days in our special oven before being hand engraved with any date or message you may want to add. We take care of all of this for you before safely shipping your glass back to you, along with any remaining ashes that aren't used in the process.

Each memorial is made 1-at-a-time and no two are identical. Our friends and clients have always been thrilled by the results and we are grateful to be able to offer you this special service to cherish your loved ones in glass-art forever.

🤩 So, How did you come to find us and what would you like to know? This post is open to help demystify the process and Ill gladly chat to any questions or comments.

Cast a mold for the burner block part timber part clay. It set and the timber was stuck fast. Last resort after drilling, grinding, yelling and crying I decided to throw it in our trusty Stanley. Job done

Lessons learned from last build. This time all the cast refractory bits got properly fired in the oven to toughen them up. 28 hours up to 600C and here’s me fitting the furnace parts back together. Feels like still a long way to go.

Glassblowing furnace getting its makeover. We mix high temp castable insulation and set into molds for the glass pot, internal walls, crown and burner block. Leave to set for a few days before we break them open.
