A beautiful triple piece of contemporary korowai art with an Irish/Scottish twist. This piece measures 59cms L, 20cms W and a frame thickness of 3 1/2 cms. This is the first piece I've made in a while as last year I'd been concentrating on making korowai for my Whanau. I'm happy to post at buyers expense. Will come bubble wrapped. $170.

Kia ora Whanau.
I haven't created much this past year but have started up again so you will start to see some more contemporary shadow boxed korowai frames and earrings. My last frame went with a dear friend to Melbourne.
The earrings I have made have been made with tumbled paua shell. Every pair is different.

Kia ora Whanau. Before I put my mahi up I just wanted to introduce myself properly. My name is Charlotte and I am of Maori/Irish Heritage. I Whakapapa back to the Pitiroi/Hemopo Whanau on my Maori side and the Hose/McCauley Whanau on my Irish side. Because of health issues I can't work full time anymore. I have run my own cleaning company being a sole trader for 15 yrs. I now work part-time so, I decided to do something I love which is creating unique pieces of Contemporary korowai frames. Each frame is different and some of the items I use I source sustainably so no wastage. I have 3 pieces up for sale. If your interested in any of them please pm me.. the long black one measures 54 by 18 with a frame thickness of 3 CMS. This piece is $135. The Irish inspired piece measures 31 by 39 with a frame thickness of 3 CMS. This piece is $125. My open piece measures 40 by 45 with a frame thickness of 2 CMS. This piece is $125. If your interested in the open piece this one must be picked up as I don't want it damaged in the post. The others I'm happy to post at buyers expense. Nga mihi.

Kia Ora. I have these 4 pieces for sale at a reduced price. Previously $120 but have reduced to $90 each. We have a beautiful purple one with a Paua shell pendant drop and miniature poi for the ties. A red, yellow and green one with a red band and miniature poi for the ties. A beautiful yellow and black one has a gold coloured band and miniature poi for the ties. Green Irish inspired piece with tartan band and kilt pin. The poi are made with tartan fabric. Each frame varies in dimensions so pm if your interested in a piece and I can give you the measurements. This piece will be ready for sale tomorrow as I still want to stain the wood frame with linseed oil. This frame has a touch of Scottish to it as I have used the tartan coloured fabric to create the small POIs. I've used natural rope and natural coloured feathers to create my take on the piupiu. Normally a piupiu is made of bark or flax.The backboard I have used Harakeke. It measures 23 by 28 CMS with a frame thickness of 4cms. $90. Happy to.post at buyers expense.

My memories triple piece. The sea is where for some a lot of memories are made. So I've used small blue feathers to create the KOROWAI. Using Harakeke as the background and a small Paua pendant as the drop. The bottom piece I have used small pieces of Paua to form a koru. The background is also Harakeke. Back up for sale as the previous buyer changed their mind. My take on a piupiu framed piece of art. The drop is a genuine piece of pounamu. The backboard is Hessian cloth. It measures 25 by 25 CMS.
Puipui are normally made using bark or flax but I have used natural rope. . A lot of the items I use on my pieces I have sourced sustainably. This piece is $110. I'm happy to post at buyers expense.

Kia Ora. This is my latest piece. Just finished today. Is called "My Heritage". Being of Irish/Maori descent I have incorporated this into my art. It measures 40 by 20 CMS with a frame thickness of 4.5 cms. The backboard is made up of Harakeke. The top KOROWAI has a band made up of small pieces of Paua shell. The bottom KOROWAI is a kilt inspired KOROWAI with 2 very small hand made poi as the drop. A lot of the items I use on my frames are sourced sustainably.Please feel free to message me if you want to purchase. I can post it but at buyers expense. $90.

My latest creation. I haven't sat down and created anything for a couple of weeks and decided to today. It's not finished yet as I want to stain the wooden frame with linseed oil. The drop on this frame is a mother of pearl shell. It was a necklace I reconstructed. I love using sustainably sourced items in my work. DM me if you are interested. ❤️
