For sale this long weekend is a gorgeous cowl knitted in a blend of alpaca and fine Peruvian highland wool. Sometimes things really don’t go to plan. I knitted as far as dividing for the armholes and then the pattern just didn’t make sense. I can usually nut things out and come up with a solution, but not this time. This gorgeous pink alpaca yarn has been unravelled and put aside for another day 🌸
The lesson I have learnt here is to stick to pattern designers you are familiar with and trust.

This little jumper is beautiful. I’m not sure if it’s the alpaca yarn, the pattern itself, or a combination of both but this is the 4th I’ve made. This one is 2-3 years old and is sold, but I have had more colours turn up so I’ll be knitting more at some stage. For now I’m about to cast on a dusky pink vest for a 4 year old 🌸

Even knitters need the right ‘tools’. I cast on a new sock (Sunday socks by Petite Knit) which is 4ply double stranded to make 8ply and I’ve been struggling with my needles 🥲 I almost binned this sock as it was just too hard. New needles arrived yesterday and wow, what a difference 🙏 I’m making myself some socks for winter!

I’m not a fan of knitting bottom up and one of the reasons is I do not love seaming. Sewing the front to back seems like such a chore to me. However I am knitting this one for a 6-12 month old as the denim blue one sold while I still had the back to knit 🙌

I cast on this gorgeous pink in the weekend. It’s the softest yarn which is a 50/50 combination of alpaca and fine wool. I am knitting a little jumper to fit size 2 years but this pattern is generous sized, so it will be more 2-3 years 🩷 (the same pattern I knitted early this month) 🤍
