We've just announced our November workshop series to help you unwind and start getting prepped for Christmas. Every Wednesday in November we'll be holding a dried flower workshop from 6-7pm.
- 4th Nov... Create little dried posies to decorate ceramic trees and hearts made by our neighbour Quirky Pottery Taupo
- 11th Nov... Make tiny wreaths and posies to hang on the tree, the wall or to decorate napkins and presents with
-18th Nov... Decorate a ceramic bell with dried flowers (also handcrafted by Quirky Pottery Taupo )
-25th Nov... Creating dried posies for ceramic decorations

The workshops are just an hour long and only cost $55 each (or come along to 3x for $150). An affordable, fun activity to do with friends before the craziness of Christmas kicks in!!

We are coming to the end of orchid and protea season, making way for some gorgeous new seasonal favourites. Think fluffy snowball, beautiful ranunculus and lots of lovely locally grown tulips! Swipe through to see what's in store this week...

A small sample of what went out this week.... the white waratah making an appearance in quite a few, aren't they so stunning! We are open tomorrow from 10am till 1pm, and have a nice selection available. Maybe a little thank you gift to the grandparents for helping out in the school holidays...

An arrangement we did a few weeks ago for a special client that had me sweating bullets. Why is it that photos never do the work justice... Those burgundy orchids from Calla & Co 😍 I just wish those dark colours showed up better in photos. And NZ grown anthuriums (thanks freeda.nz ) along with the very first of the local (yes Taupo) tulips - these ones from Ellie Godwin

Personally I'd love a tulip bouquet over a rose bouquet any day. I love how they bend the way they want to... not necessarily the way you want them to 😂 Best of all they mean deep love.

It's like Christmas here... finally the local tulips have started blooming just when everyone else's are finishing. That's one of the great things about our climate, things come on a little later here so we get to enjoy them for longer.

So this happened last night and it was pretty cool... we won the Retail category of the Taupo Towncentre Stella Awards. You'll be pleased to know none of us tripped in high heels getting on and off the stage!! (Yes it's a concern for those of us who live in sneakers.) And while I normally try and think about what I would say if we won ahead of time, this year I just plain forgot, so it was all off the cuff and hopefully not too waffly.

What I meant to say was that I'm incredibly grateful to have this business, such incredible customers, this shop space and staff who feel more like sisters than employees. Being in business has not been easy, always learning, always feeling like there's something I should be doing, a lot of time spent at work rather than at home but the young girl who dreamt about having her own florist shop would be so proud.
