Part two of the final reveal of my six-week renovation to turn this attached unit into a stunning modern family first home.

The budget was tight, but by making some small changes, new lighting, new bathroom, new double-glazed joinery on the South side, new built in laundry, new kitchen handles, rangehood and gas hob, flooring, curtains and blinds and last but not least, having the place staged by the super amazing and talented Olivia from SpacefullyYours. This project was a team effort to help our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson get into their first home.

The 6-week renovation of this project includes a new bathroom, double-glazed joinery on the South Side, new interior paint, feature panels and stunning stack-bonded tiles that elevate the existing kitchen and are used in the bathroom and laundry. Who said that demolition can't be fun? This was a chance to have family bonding, even our grandson helped a hand and started to learn the property business at a young age. The demolition on Princess Road was a family affair over Matariki weekend that was not only fun but formed family memories and helped our daughter make entering the housing market achievable.

Introducing my latest project, a three-bedroom attached unit. Originally, it was going to be a flip, but our daughter and son-in-law loved it so much that it will become their first family home.

Structurally sound North-facing block end unit with a detached garage and a 396sqm flat site, perfect for bringing up our young grandson and across the road from a great primary school.

Follow me as we get closer to the final reveal coming soon, and see the subtle ways I used interior design principles to transform this plain unit into a modern but relaxed family home, while following a tight budget.

PS, I also transformed the entry and courtyard landscaping.
