She’s a doozy of a throwback Thursday this week - Circa 1993
Terrible photo of me, but an amazing snapshot of florist shops in 1990s NZ. This was ‘Flowers by Barbara’ in Pollen Street Thames ( next to Carson’s Bookstore) . I first started working here after school as a teenager. Bucket / Vase washer, bow maker , dusting shelves with baskets and terracotta pot dried floral arrangements ( I still don’t know how I feel about them, but special mention to those Straw hats 👒 ) and vacuuming, yes that is carpet you see 😆
Swathes of Calico , Hessian.. it was definitely a vibe, and holds a special place in my heart.
I worked there full time for a bit when I left school, which is around about when this photo was taken, I think, it was a long time ago.. 😆
The business later became ‘Flower Language’ where I also worked and continued to learn and grow my skills and love of working with flowers 🌸
Still washing buckets of course ☺️
🤔Aren’t Boat shoes back in style ?!
Should have kept them 😂
