A few new shapes of vases were being cut out and sanded today. You will have to wait to see the end results, we have a few tricks up our sleeve to the finishing of them..
They also need a hole drilled in them to fit a glass cylinder inside, which means these beauties will actually be able to hold water and fresh flowers.
Check out one that has already been finished off with a lovely shiny gloss and beautiful daffodils from my garden

Today I had a wee vision…
I was given a couple of pieces of rimu last month and, to be honest, I’ve been side-stepping them ever since.
Today I finally grabbed a piece of paper, drew a shape, traced it onto the wood and started cutting. After a bit of sanding, I headed inside to show Cam my vision.
As I walked through the door, the doorbell rang… and there was a delivery of beautiful daffodils from a cancer fundraiser that Cam had surprised me with.
Funny how I had just been creating a wooden vase, and flowers arrived at the exact same time.
The glass cylinder will fit down the middle of the vase. I’m just waiting for the right tool to arrive so I can finish it off.
Sometimes an idea just seems to come together at exactly the right moment. ❤️

Plenty of jobs on the go today.. Had the old boy on the circular saw cutting some new wood vases, which I am thankful for as I really don't trust myself with doing this part.. Off cuts from this I have poured resin into it and hopefully making a big wind spinner.. then my sign on our front fence was looking a bit rough so i got a new one on the engraver

I am sure plenty of you are not thinking of Christmas yet, or are you??
I am getting onto it early this year so I don't run out of time, every year I tend to leave it to the last minute, but not this year!!
