Getting a new home ready for the market……

There’s quite a bit that goes on behind the scenes when it comes to staging a house for sale. It’s about looking at each space, working out what it needs and selecting furniture and accessories that complement the home rather than compete with it.

It’s important not to over do it so potential buyers walking through get a feel for how the house could work for them.

A little furniture, some styling and a few finishing touches and suddenly the whole house feels like a home.

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of unpacking arrivals for a project 👏🏻 it really brings the vision to life and ignites the enthusiasm all over again!

These rustic, industrial-inspired pendants have arrived for an upcoming commercial project, and I just know they’re going to make the right statement in the space.

Now for the hardest part… waiting patiently until we’re closer to completion so all 7 of these pendants can finally be installed 🤓

Fresh back from the workroom and ready for their feather inner, these custom-made cushion are all about the details 🙌🏻❤️

The beautiful new-release Harlequin geometric fabric brings together rich earthy tones of rust, ochre, plum, sage and cream — and as you can see, I’ve even managed to match all the colours to my top! 🤦‍♀️😂 It’s all in the details right?!!!

Finished with deep forest green velvet piping for a little extra depth and definition, a discreet hidden zip and a beautifully plump feather inner — because cushions should not only look good, they should feel gorgeous too.

One of those finishing touches that adds personality, colour and a little bit of luxury to a space.

This week’s interior design tip - Indoor Plants

Indoor plants are one of my favourite ways to bring life, colour and a little bit of personality into a space.

They’re an easy way to soften a room without overcomplicating it, adding texture and a natural element that instantly makes a space feel more welcoming.

The other great thing about indoor plants……they go with EVERYTHING! So it doesn’t matter if your interior is neutral, colourful, classic or contemporary, a well-placed plant will always make a house feel like a home.

Remember it’s the finishing touches that make a house feel like a home.

🎨 I even did something for myself and finally hung one of my new pieces of art
🚗 A LOT of time spent in the car… just a normal week!

🧶 A custom-made floor rug making its way home to Twizel, ready to hang out with the custom-made curtains in a client’s home
🤍 And a lovely client presentation for a wonderful new client who I’m really thrilled to be working with

Busy, varied and always something different ……… and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

A few finishing touches to make this home feel just right......

This custom made squab is the perfect spot to sit and pop your shoes on before heading out the door, practical, comfortable and made to fit the space.

Over in the lounge, we've added a couple of timeless cushions, a classic stripe teamed with a deep, heavy woven green linen. A simple mixture of texture and pattern that brings the room together without overdoing it.

A perfect reflection of our client and their lifestyle - relaxed and considered.

This week’s interior design tip - Invest in the furniture you use every day.

A well-made sofa, dining chair or bed doesn’t just look better, it feels better and lasts longer!
Just as importantly, make sure it suits the scale of your space. The wrong size can make a room feel cramped, overwhelmed or awkward and empty……no matter how beautiful it is.

A little planning before you buy can save a lot of regret later.

Remember it’s the finishing touches and thoughtfully considered pieces that make a house feel like a home.
