Day 3 of the sewing retreat at MiCamp Taupō with the KiwiQuilters and I’ve finished my Charyn Handbag by Kaur Threads.

This one was definitely a mission on the HD9. There were a few moments where I questioned my life choices, but it was absolutely achievable and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Black embossed vinyl on the outside, a bright pop of paisley on the inside, and plenty of pockets and compartments to keep everything organised.

Now that the handbag is finished, I’m moving onto some sneakers. More updates to follow. 😊

Spent today prepping for a sewing retreat I’m heading to in June 😊

Played around with different colour combinations, pulled fabrics and vinyls, and finally got all the patterns printed and cut out. Trying to be as prepped as possible before I head away so I can spend the three days sewing instead of scrambling around organising stuff.

Now I just need to decide which bags I’m actually making first because apparently choosing fabrics is half the battle 😅

Made from my Uncle Michael’s shirt, this bear is heading off to my Aunty Kelsey.

This one made me smile a lot while sewing. Uncle Michael was an absolute prankster and one of those people who could say the most ridiculous things with a completely straight face 😂

I hope this little guy brings back plenty of good memories for the people who loved him most 💛

A little bit of pottering in the cabin today while I slowly get myself organised for retreat in the middle of June 🩵

Spent some time tidying up the workspace and grabbed these super cute little stackable drawers from Supercheap Auto. Apparently I’ve accidentally started a mini aqua toolbox collection now 😅

I’ve also got some matching drawer units coming from Bunnings next week thanks to my gorgeous friend who went on a mission for me today 💕

Now to cut out some bags, shuffle supplies around, and pretend I’m being organised instead of just rearranging craft things for dopamine 😂

Moved onto a new bag this weekend 😊

This one was custom made with a denim lining and an internal bottle holder request. Black leather-look exterior, gunmetal hardware and a much cleaner everyday vibe than some of my louder statement bags.

Honestly really happy with how this one has come together. Simple on the outside, practical on the inside and big enough to actually be useful day to day.

Same Alexander Henry fabric I used years ago on one of my very first bags… just recreated this time with a few more years of experience, industrial machines and a much better understanding of construction behind it.

Black faux leather, antique bronze hardware and that gorgeous embossed strap to finish it off. Pretty happy with how this one came together.
