The Studio?

It is still a shared premises with Imagery Hair and I will be here until Wednesday 23rd October. After the 23rd, I will only be available via email and phone.

CONCEPT... A little different to interiors...

Sometimes you have to consider the exterior as part of a project. In this case, we consider the stairs. The pathway that leads to the magic. The concept is taking common elements of geometry and interesting patterns to create stair risers.

Sketchup and I have gone hand in hand into designing a concept that focuses on a repeat connecting with the statement wallpaper panels in this home.

Aluminium seems to be the suitable choice for the outdoors...

How do you to choose a SUITABLE fabric?
There are untold possibilities with fabrics, you find yourself thinking 'where do I start'.
Consider these questions to ask yourself
💜Where in the home is the fabric going?
💜What is the fabrics purpose? Upholstery, accent, drapery?
💜Is this a statement or Complimenting your space?
💜Do I want colour?
💜Do I want to feature a pattern and create a story?
💜Who will be the occupant ie kiddies and or pets?
💜What is the UV like in the space?

No problems, there are so many versatile and beautiful fabrics that can tick a lot those boxes. As a designer, we guide you and ease the pressure and confusion of this process.

💜Featuring my wee nephew who gravitates to my green sofa when I get a visit in the Studio. A stunning Manuel Revert fabric upholstery collection. This fabric incorporates a finish to make stains disappear with a little water and paper towels. And might I add has a soft velour for those who are tactile.

The brief for this gorgeous home is to embrace the country style. Set in a rural environment, we translate the soft greens to the kitchen walls. This takes away the harshness of the white, making it easier on the eye in all day sun...

The Wellington Art Show opening night was INCREDIBLE!

There is so much talent out there and it was amazing to be invited. I was especially drawn to the work by Andrew Swarbrick. Now, a lot may be shocked by the confronting media - but that's what I loved. The bravery of contorted bodies, bold emotions and mutilation. It's bold and he uses just 3 colours!!!
That's what art is about isn't it - the reaction, feeling something...a conversation piece.

Special thanks to Wellington artist Karen Hamilton Smith. Her work is absolutely stunning. Emotive and clever use of layering and her brilliant puzzle pieces.

Wellington Art Show this weekend Saturday 20 – Sunday 21

Featuring Wellington Artist Karen-Hamilton Smith.

The lovely Karen, an award winning Artist whom has exhibited for over 20 years will be showcasing 16 pieces of her stunning artworks.

Karen is a contemporary artist, her paintings conjure a sense of joy through the use of saturated colours. Her paintings are inspired by memories of places she has travelled to around NZ and the joys of music. What makes Karen’s artwork prominent is her layering of mixed medias, her impressionist techniques and her latest “jig-saw” pieces. Feed your eyes and soul this weekend by visiting the show and their magnificent work. Who knows, you might discover that one piece to finish your interior. See you all there!

THE WELLINGTON ART SHOW APRIL 2024!

Featuring the lovely and talented Karen Hamilton-Smith and her interesting Jigsaw Artwork. It remind us “LIFE is about falling in love with those rainy days too - not just the warm summery ones. Even when that troublesome jigsaw piece has gone walkabout!!”

Her artwork will be at The Wellington Art Show, 19 - 21 April at Tākina Convention Centre (opp Te Papa).
