Graduate / Emerging Interior Architect + Designer | Wānaka

Just graduated? A couple of years into the industry? Or simply ready for somewhere you can learn faster, design more and actually see your ideas come to life?

Melanie Craig Team is looking for a talented designer to join our Wānaka studio.

This isn't a role where you'll spend your first few years sitting quietly in the background.

You'll be involved in real projects, real clients and real decisions, working across spatial planning, interiors, kitchens, bathrooms, bespoke joinery, furniture, lighting, materials and all the details that make a space exceptional.

And because we work closely with our own joinery manufacturing team, you'll get something pretty special as a young designer the opportunity to see what you draw actually being made, understand how things go together and become a better designer because of it.

ArchiCAD skills will take you a long way with us. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, 3D visualisation/rendering and creating seriously good presentations is also a bonus.

But we're just as interested in how you think.

We're looking for someone curious and switched on. Someone who can take feedback, solve problems and learn quickly. Someone who asks questions, takes ownership and genuinely wants to become exceptional at what they do.

-- You might be fresh out of university.

-- You might already have a few years under your belt.

Either way, if you're talented, ambitious and a little bit obsessed with good design, we want to hear from you.

RENOVATION ALERT - check the before and after
- - - - - When you're renovating, you don't necessarily need more house.

At Melanie Craig, we love renovations because they give us the opportunity to take an everyday home one that may already work perfectly well and completely rethink how it can look, feel and function.

This kitchen is a perfect example, we transformed what was once simply a functional kitchen into a space that now feels like the heart of the home warm, sophisticated, highly functional and completely individual to the people who live here.

For us, a great renovation is about much more than choosing beautiful finishes. We look at how our clients actually live. Where they make coffee in the morning. Where everyone naturally gathers. What needs to be hidden away. What deserves to be seen. How people move through the kitchen, and how it connects to the dining and living spaces around it.

Then we have some fun with it. Here, dark timber, incredible stone, soft curves, beautiful detailing and layers of warm lighting have turned a practical kitchen into something quite special. The sculptural island and illuminated stone niche bring personality to the room, while behind it all is a kitchen that has been carefully planned to function effortlessly every day.

That balance is what we love most.. Beautiful interiors shouldn't just be for new architectural homes. Some of our favourite projects come from taking an existing house, understanding what isn't working, and showing our clients just how fabulous the home they already own can become.

Sometimes you just need to make the house you have work beautifully.

- this home we completed in 2020 which Archipro is showcasing this weekend, certainly has a stunny view over Wanaka and will be toasty and warm including all the interior moments that make it wow.. Was a pleasure to be apart of.
