Copper Catkin Copper Catkin showcases the designs and artwork of Cat Drayer in fun, quirky, fabrics, jewellery, and accessories.

Copper Catkin embraces the designs, artwork, and concepts of Cat Drayer. Cat loves drawing things and using the drawings to make other things.
When she is not drawing or making things, she is thinking about drawing or making things, organising the Petone Winter Markets, or doing her day job in IT. Drawing and making things helps maintain a healthy balance. As well as the fat quarters, sewing patt

Tabletop game designers, publishers, people who have booths at game conventions, would you be interested in being interviewed for this new idea?

Back when I was running Copper Catkin Consulting as a going concern, I wrote several articles pointing towards my courses to help people with their market stall displays, sales, customer engagement, etc.

I have been thinking about doing something similar for board game booths, now that I have been to a few conventions and seen the environment.

Do you think it's a good idea?

And if you have ever had a booth at a convention (and you have lots of photos) would you be interested in being interviewed about it for Drayer Ink - written and video content? Possibly including a bit of video at your booth?

Here's one of my Copper Catkin blog posts that I would use as a starting point (the course links no longer work, I need to remove them).

Feel the fear and do it anyway “Eek! I think I’m ready to have a stall at a market… But how on earth do I start?” I think we have all been there with something or other – that feeling of nervousness, wondering if you’ll make the grade, is anyone besides your mum going to […]

Finally got up the nerve to check if any of my work was being used to train AI technology.

Yes.

A lot of it is.

I did not, and do not, give permission for this, but the only thing I can do is laboriously upload EVERY single image to the database and "opt out", which is... overwhelming.

Please, support human artists, not AI. I am in the position of having to decide whether or not to delete my Spoonflower store, which is my only contribution to our income at the moment, to protect my work. I shouldn't have to make that decision, and neither should any other artist, photographer, writer, or anyone else at risk of losing their creations and income to AI replacements.

I gave one of my colourable bag kits to my lovely friend Amanda for her birthday, and she sent me this absolutely delightful picture of her spending an evening colouring it in with her friend Elaine ♡

Absolutely heartbroken to hear that her royal majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, has died.

She was a constant throughout my life, and faced some truly terrible challenges in her long reign. She will be terribly missed.

Long live King Charles III. He comes to the throne at a very difficult time for the UK and the Commonwealth, poor man, and so soon after losing both his parents.

Her son King Charles III pays tribute to his "beloved mother" who has died peacefully at Balmoral.

These images are absolutely spectacular. What a time to be alive!
