Bit of a treat.. the neighbours gave us some white bait.. it’s not like they have an amazing flavour, but they are a childhood memory (from the 70’s!) My uncle was the racing reporter for the Truth newspaper (most of you won’t know it) and came to Christchurch for the Labour Day races.. bringing fresh whitebait.. and mum would cook up the patties.. I wasn’t so keen on the crunchy black eyes, but a when everyone else is excited you believe them! ❤

Life feels very full and varied.. and last weekend was a classic! Soccer Friday night, playground with Robertson and Beattie boys Saturday.. pick up clothes for a media project for one daughter Saturday afternoon.. back to the other daughter Saturday night so I’m ready for her media shoot on Sunday (different daughter, different media situation .. ) sizzling on the beach all afternoon with more family members added in, Pickleball Monday and ferry from Devonport for a day in the city today with sister and friend. Sometimes I have no idea what day it is and where I should be (oh and sewing on labels to school clothes and making mugs on the side for upcoming Open Studios Whanganui!!) it’s crazy but good. No complaints.
