I'M BACK: I have been away for a week and I am dying to get back in the studio. This last work only needs to be varnished. The entry itself is not for a while, so I can relax. I have one more competition I wish to enter, but I don't need to start that until November. So I am heading in a new direction for a bit.

SOME EXCITING NEWS Myself and a dear friend are holding an exhibition in November, so for a while I am working on smaller works as I seem to have too many larger paintings.

The reveal of the competition entries starts after next weekend, once they are revealed in the competition itself . So exciting times ahead.

Today I am showing just a little snippet of tis last work.

Elegant orchids are beautifully displayed in a handcrafted stoneware clay vessel, courtesy of our neighbor, with additional pieces currently in production. John Stephens, The Alchemist Potter/Artist, is the mastermind behind these exquisite creations.

Finally found that 'little touch' I felt my 'printed' ceramic wall hanging needed to be hung - a butterfly brooch I spotted in an op shop!

I did this in a Jennifer Turnbull 'print on clay' workshop at The Pottery at Square Edge Community Arts in Palmerston North...maybe a couple of years ago now.

It has my little 'Caterpillar, Caterpillar' design on it from my little nature notebooks.

The design started as a practise linocut print I did years ago .

Some things I try just keep evolving and evolving through different mediums - or maybe it's metamorphosis! 🦋 🐛 😉
