Greg Betts’ handcrafted furniture is shaped through years of experience, using traditional tools and reclaimed native timbers. His chairs and sculptural forms have a distinctive flow — curves that feel organic, joints that fit with quiet precision.
Inside Bricksticks at Artists Open Studios Whanganui, Greg’s pieces feel perfectly at home among the textures of the old brickworks.

Michelle Colson is an abstract painter who loves colour and form. Her evocative paintings, large and small appear to capture moments in time whilst giving the impression they'll continue evolving. Spacious landscapes are emerging in her latest works.
This year at Artists Open Studios Whanganui she also exhibits handmade sculptural forms from feathers collected mostly from Virginia Lake paired with driftwood from Castlecliff Beach. Sculptural, intentional, and deeply connected to place.

Nadina Dodd's mixed media artworks reflect her inner world, travels, memories and love of experimentation with textures, layers, and random found items. Play and intuition are critical aspects of her process and she invites you to sense in to her work and notice what it evokes in you.
Her whimsical upcycled crafts are an exploration of childhood, family, place and history. She enjoys scouting the various thrift shops and giving life to the treasures of the past, especially the doilies!

Raewyn Vanstone's art has a nostalgic quality with her paintings of buildings and landscapes that are fading from history out in the NZ countryside. She also restores and reshapes timbers and organic materials into their next life as practical or decorative objects that carry their own stories.
Raewyn’s mix of painting and woodwork sits comfortably within Bricksticks and Artists Open Studios Whanganui

David Taylor’s paintings feel like weather in motion — skies dissolving into colour, water in motion, horizons blurring, textures rising and sinking across the surface. His paintings hold atmosphere and emotion in every layer.
At Bricksticks, his pieces will bring a dynamic, expressive counterpoint to the stillness of the kiln chambers during Artists Open Studios Whanganui.
