We recently had Louis from Baya Rugs join the Colthurst team to share the story behind this beautiful New Zealand-owned, fourth-generation family business and take us through their stunning collection of rugs.

With more than 80 years of experience in textiles and soft furnishings, Baya brings together refined New Zealand design, quality materials and thoughtful craftsmanship to create rugs that are made to be both beautiful and functional.

Crafted for living. Crafted for life. 🤎

At Colthurst, our team is always learning more about the products and brands we offer, so we can share our knowledge and help you make the right choice for your home and your space.

A beautiful rug can completely elevate a room, adding warmth, texture and personality.

Come into our Whangārei showroom and explore the Baya range for yourself. You might just find the piece that brings your whole room together. ✨

There's a reason our Stain & Fade Proof carpet ranges from Belgotex are such a customer favourite!

They're beautifully soft, incredibly durable and made to handle the everyday demands of busy Kiwi homes, without compromising on style!

And how gorgeous does our Parkview Gardens 6kg carpet in Castle Cove look in the stunning Innovation Homes showhome at Port Nikau!

Part of our Premium Stain & Fade Proof Collection, this luxurious carpet combines comfort, style and practicality, perfect for everyday family living!

Why our customers love it:
✅ Stain Proof – Perfect for busy households, kids and pets!
☀️ Fade Proof – Designed to maintain its beautiful colour, even in sun-filled homes.
☁️ Luxuriously Soft – A gorgeous, plush feel underfoot.
💪 Made to Last – Extra heavy-duty residential rating, backed by a 15-year residential stain and UV colourfastness warranty.

🌿 A Smarter Choice – Low VOC emissions and a water-free solution-dyeing process.

We were so proud to work alongside the amazing team at Innovation Homes on their Port Nikau showhome. They've done an incredible job bringing this beautiful home together and we're thrilled to have been part of it!

📸 Beautifully captured by talented local photographer Sarah Marshall.

A big congratulations to Zane on his promotion to General Manager of Colthurst Flooring! 👏

Zane has been with us since 2020, starting out across sales and the warehouse, where he learned the industry and the business from the ground up. Over the years, he has built a huge amount of product knowledge and experience behind the scenes preparing products, managing stock, keeping orders moving and playing a massive part in the day-to-day operation of the business.

There have been some huge changes during Zane’s time with us, including plenty of growth, expanding the team and upgrading into two new warehouses and he has grown right alongside the business.

Zane is now making the move into the showroom, where he’ll be working much more closely with our team, contractors, clients and suppliers.

So you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of Zane and so far, we’re all loving having him here in his new role!

Congratulations Zane, thoroughly deserved. We’re excited for this next chapter and everything ahead for Colthurst Flooring.
