Soft Opening This Saturday & Knit in Public Day!

Winton, it’s happening!

This Saturday is Knit in Public Day, and it felt like the perfect moment to quietly open the doors to our new winter residence of the Hybrid Studio + Yarn Store; just a little Cabana magic right in town.

Think of it as a soft opening with yarn, coffee and tea, and zero pressure.

You’ll be able to:

* bring your knitting and join in for Knit in Public

* squish yarn in person

* browse a curated selection of Cabana favourites

* see samples up close for inspiration

* chat, stitch, and settle into the space as it wakes up for winter

This is the gentle beginning. The “yes, we’re here” moment.

What’s the big fuss about the Winter Circle?

The Winter Circle is a seasonal gathering space for knitters, makers, and creative souls looking for connection during the colder months.

Rather than a traditional class or membership club, it’s a welcoming place to bring your project, settle in with a warm drink, and enjoy the company of fellow makers.

What to expect:

• Regular knitting and making sessions throughout winter ( mid June to end of August)
• A cosy, inspiring studio environment
• Space to work on your own projects
• Connection with a small community of like-minded people
• Occasional surprises and seasonal treats

The Winter Circle is built around a small number of Founding Circle seats, with additional places available for casual drop-in makers.

Why are numbers limited?

The Winter Circle is intentionally kept small.

A smaller group allows everyone to have a comfortable seat, room to spread out their projects, and the opportunity to genuinely connect with others. It helps preserve the warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes the Circle special.

This isn’t about packing people into a room—it’s about creating a space where people can slow down, create, and belong.

A New Winter Tradition is Coming to Cabana D’Yarna

As the days grow shorter and the temperatures drop, I’ve been dreaming about creating something a little different.

Not just a yarn shop.
Not just a knitting group.

A warm, welcoming place to gather through winter. A place to work on projects, share ideas, learn from one another, and enjoy the simple pleasure of making together.

This winter, Cabana D’Yarna will be opening its Winter Residence in town — a cosy studio shop where yarn, creativity, and community come together.

I’m calling it The Winter Circle.

Think comfortable space, wool-filled shelves, warm drinks, good conversation, and the gentle rhythm of needles clicking on a winter afternoon and one morning.

Over the coming days I’ll be sharing more about how it works, what’s included, and how you can become part of it.
