I am a dull woman, but enjoying my life so much. A year ago I finally found my "dream cottage" and moved from a big house in the Atlanta suburbs to a more peaceful life in the Country. I immediately felt more relaxed, as before I always felt like I had to be an over-achiever and take care of everything and everybody. Now I feel free to be laid back. Since February I have been working on achieving two of my selfish wants--- at 71 I thought I might as well have them now and not wait. So I now have a She-Shed and we just finished an above-ground pool. I want to share them with you. They may be simple and countrified but I love giving myself permission to have all the "Me-Time" I want, enjoy my hobbies, and be refreshed in my space and pool. Wishing you all a peaceful life from North Georgia.

I'm blown away by how many comments I received for my very first post. So many people have asked to see some more photos of the boat. It's my birthday tomorrow hence I've got some cards up and more flowers. I am a liveaboard in the UK on the canal. I'm currently moored in a boatyard but yes I take the boat out and do cruising along the canal surrounded by swans, ducks, moor hens, geese and kingfishers. There are plenty of fish in the water. It is a very idyllic way of living.
Thank you, thank you all for your wonderful comments of my previous post.

Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself and share a photo. I’m 59, live on a small farm, grow whatever interests me and that changes every year. I raised 75 chicks to start an egg business and just got 50 more because I didn’t like the blue eggs. I have three dogs, two goats and a horse. I dread when someone comes up the driveway unannounced and interrupts my free ranging time. For fun, I take a hot bath, get into my pajamas, drink tea and read into the wee hours.
Edited to add: I really am dull: I hate to wear anything but overalls unless I am riding. I never want to leave this place but I have 2 jobs and am always late, have Dr. appointments and need groceries. I have a boyfriend but only see him in the morning for coffee. I have ADHD and don’t do well in groups or crowds and can not multitask or listen to verbal directions. I cut my own hair and don’t wear makeup (I will rub my eyes and face till it is gone).
PS. I haven’t planted anything yet this year. Maybe it will be pumpkins.

Hello…I’m 83, divorced 45 years, live happily alone with my best friend, me…took this photo last week having lunch at my favorite restaurant, C Level on Harbor Island. I was born, and have always lived in San Diego, but have traveled extensively internationally and nationally. I’ve had an amazing media career; radio talk show host and producer, executive assistant to the editor of the Union-Tribune, model, motivational speaker; was in the July 1985 edition of Cosmopolitan magazine, fought a bull in the Tijuana, Mexico bull ring…personal es**rt to Mikhail Gorbachev and his wife, Raisa, the year before her passing. I have two beautiful children, one gorgeous granddaughter and a 17-year-old, handsome and brilliant great-grandson and his equally brilliant 7-year-old sister. My claim to fame is I was 6 feet tall at 12 years old.

I am dull.
When I get home from work I immediate get into pajamas.
For fun, I like to:
-read historical novels
-knit in the winter and garden in the summer
-cook and bake
-research genealogy and visit cemeteries
Spontaneity turns me off.
I don’t drink alcohol nor have I ever smoked. I try to avoid sugar.
I wear a night guard to prevent me from grinding my teeth at night.
I look forward to retirement so I can raise chickens.
Thrilling things:
-Occasionally, staying in my pajamas all Saturday
-Buying worms and seeds for my garden
-Getting into bed before 9:00pm
-Knowing the botanical names of plants
-Wrapping gifts
-Listening to someone tell a good story
-Shoes with good arch support
-Hemming my own slacks and dresses
-Arranging flowers
I really appreciate people who make things - art, food, furniture, clothing, music, stories, anything.
I wear size 8 sensible shoes with bunion accommodations.
Surprisingly, I have been married to a not dull man for 30 years.

I found this old photograph. It was taken in 1995. I was almost 15. Now it’s 2025, I’m almost 45, and I actually live the life she wanted.
That girl on the left wanted no children, and no marriage. She wanted to be an artist, and to create jewelry. She wanted a career. She wanted to help others. She wanted to be fabulous.
How she got from point A to point B is a story meant to be told in a book the woman on the right will write
While I’m happily coupled, I’m not married. I have no children (but I do have 4 cats) I created all the art behind me, and all the jewelry I’m wearing. It is my career to create- that along with helping others~ which is fabulous 🎈

I went grocery shopping this morning. There was a man at the dairy case so I waited to grab my Hood cottage cheese. Turns out the man was a district manager for Daisy and he asked, kind of kiddingly, why I would grab Hood cottage cheese right in front of a Daisy rep. My answer was "habbit, it's what I grew up on". He then asked me to read the ingredients for the Hood product and naturally there were ingredients I could hardly pronounce. Then he had me read the ingredients on the Daisy; cultured skim milk, cream, salt. Naturally I opted for the Daisy brand cottage cheese at this point and he gave me coupons. So not only did I get a bit of an education but I also got my cottage cheese for free.
Update: The hubs and I did enjoy the cottage cheese. It is a little more watery than the Hood that we are used to but the flavor was fine. I never expected so much response over cottage cheese! But since I have your attention, and many seem concerned with what we eat, please look into how sewage sludge (biosolids) is used in agriculture. Long story short, my town just fought off a company looking to build a facility that would burn sewage sludge to turn into fertilizer for use in agriculture. This process may be a bit better that spreading raw sewage sludge on farmland, but not much. PFAS are called forever chemicals for a reason. There is much talk in our federal govt regarding pesticides and antibiotics etc. in our foods but never any talk about the use of this crap. More people need to be aware of this common practice.

Here is my prom dress, 2018. My mom and I bought it off of Etsy, and it’s an authentic 1950s prom dress. It was from a local seller who was in the Toronto area at the time and we had driven down to get the dress. The car in the background is my Nono’s lincoln town car from 1979. He passed in 2017, the year before I graduated high school. Alvin is the chihuahua in the photo. He is turning around ten years old this year.
I have a ton of bittersweet memories about prom. There are pictures of people I haven’t spoken to in years. And that is okay, because we grow up and move on. I was also in a bad relationship at the time. It has been almost three years since I was able to get out of the relationship and do a total 180 on my life. I quit my dream job- being a train conductor, to focus on my mental health. And it’s been one of the greatest decisions I have ever made.
But this dress is the reason why I dress in vintage clothing now. It’s why I can spend countless hours at flea markets and thrift stores thumbing through the clothing racks. A majority of my wardrobe is full of dresses that range from the 50s to the 90s, sweaters and skirts that are full of colour and different designs.
Whenever I tell people that I dress in vintage fashion, I always tell them that it is the vintage vibes, not the vintage values. I still have the dress in my closet, but it fits a little bit tighter now 🙂

I don't have wedding photos but i have something special. This is my son Richard. He is 13 and has Ewing Sarcoma (bone cancer) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia. It's only the 3rd time both together has been ever seen in medical history. He's already lived longer than the other two. This is week 6 for him without needed a transfusion when we were told he would never make his own blood cells. He's petting his favorite animal named Cheese.

In this dull little none of you are actually very dull at all, not even a bit. You’re quite the opposite actually. I’ve been so inspired, or so moved and so interested in each and every one of you and your lives in some way. You’re all bloody good.
We just find life SO dull don’t we. So we have nice little things we do to make it not so dull. That we think are dull but actually
they’re amazing lervs!
Heck I wish I could crochet. Or paint. Or potter! I can barely even finish this post. 🧠 ⛏️
I can’t even bloody drive.
I have been learning how to drive for ten years. I owed my last driving instructor £30 but he ghosted me anyway. 🤷🏼‍♀️ He basically paid to not have to sit in the car with me ever again.
I am a hoarder. Of all things. And it is exhausting.
Anything! Everything.
Bottles. Spoons. Shoes. Magazines. Clothes. Spoons. Shells. Glass. Rocks. Hats. Spoons. Teddies. Cups. Notebooks. Spoons.
I steal spoons. Namely teaspoons but recently I have taken to soup spoons. I love that my reflection is upside down in them. And they always come in handy. I’m probably always carrying a spoon. 🥄
Here is me and my nice lampshade I have accumlated.
Probably the first of very many.
Yorkshire, currently in nz
uk size 7, as wide as they are long!
