I missed making fresh flowers for my sweet clients this Valentine’s Day — even if it meant early months of planning, a week of sleepless nights, sourcing the best quality flowers, racing against time to pre-condition every stem so they arrive in their best condition and can be appreciated in the days to come. 💐

I miss the grind. As a small business owner, we do almost everything ourselves. Most of the grind is filled with so much physical and creative labor that isn’t seen behind every photo and arrangement.

This year, we were called to rest — and as much as I fear missing out, I believe the Lord will be faithful to bring us back to this grind again, with even better ideas and products. 🙏🏻

We hope to be back for Christmas, if our situation permits. We just had to focus on something more personal to us this year, while continuing to make Flower House better. We’ll post more soon about the limited services we can gently cater to this year.

Exactly two years ago today, I crafted my own bouquet for our civil wedding. The design was inspired by Randolf’s bespoke creation of our Filipiniana and Barong. Knowing I was a florist, Randolf thoughtfully incorporated a “tulip” sleeve into my outfit—a beautiful nod to my passion.

The flowers in my bouquet were later translated into the arrangements for our intimate reception at Blackbird. The centerpieces were foam-free, designed with sustainability in mind, and lovingly taken home by our guests and family. 🤎
