Down-to-earth but imaginative, life in the sugar plantations of Negros Island in Central Philippines inspired HACIENDA CRAFTS to produce and export handcrafted furniture and home accessories. Founded in the early 1990s, the vision of HACIENDA CRAFTS is to translate Negros Island design and creativity into distinct products that transcend boundaries, to transform a genteel and artistic lifestyle in

to unique furniture pieces that appeal to people worldwide. Towards that vision, HACIENDA CRAFTS weaves rustic "hacienda" charm into every furniture design, creating high quality, handcrafted pieces that soften contemporary living spaces with aesthetic excitement and practical sense.

Named after the local word for nest, this fixture brings an organic texture to exterior spaces. The intersecting, layered weave mimics natural architecture, acting as a striking sculptural element on patios, walkways, or garden decks during the day. When night falls, the woven frame filters the light to cast soft, dappled shadow patterns that blend beautifully with outdoor landscapes.

Made out of durable, eco-friendly abaca fibers, sinamay is a lightweight fabric that is easy to shape. To mold it correctly, it must be pulled diagonally to allow the fabric to stretch into smooth curves. While most people know sinamay as a material for formal summer hats and ribbons, this unique flexibility is exactly what allows us to create our Sirum and Sirum Flower lamps.

The Busay Lamp takes its name after the Hiligaynon word for waterfall. The woven panels are layered to mimic cascading water, creating a clean, vertical shape. It works beautifully in two ways: standing as a textured sculpture during the day, and turning into a soft, warm light source at night.

Visiting the Ata Tribe weavers inside Brgy. Puey, Sagay, allows our team to document their exact technical process. Working within their home spaces, the artisans demonstrate complete command uway or rattan split. The process relies on experienced fingers guiding challenging plant fibers and interlocking them with calculated tension to build the structural surfaces for design pieces like baskets and bags.

A mother’s hands build the foundation of a home. In the workshop in Manapla, those same hands preserve the cultural knowledge of Negros. Weaving offers these women a way to take control of their lives. Earning an income provides dignity. It allows a mother to make her own decisions because she earned it herself.

These women are active players in shaping the future of their families. They weave life into every strand of abaca and strip of bamboo. This Mother's Day, Hacienda Crafts honors the mothers who craft these products and the mothers who welcome these designs into their lives.

The way a space is lit defines its mood. Our Sirum Hanging Lamp is built from individual fibers of buri midrib, creating a light that is both diffused and textured.

Introducing this handmade element into a gathering spot or dining environment brings a sense of warmth and intentionality, connecting the room to the hands of our weavers in Negros Occidental.
