Southeast Asian & Filipino Art from the 19th to the 21st Century

This little gallery with an iconic name traces its roots to the group of Filipino ilustrados whose works as artists and writers were the sparkplug for the Philippine Revolution of 1896. Among these young turks were Jose Rizal, Juan and Antonio Luna, Marcelo H. del Pilar, Graciano Lopez Jaena, the brothers Pardo de Tavera and Arist

on Bautista Lin. A later re-incarnation in Manila’s golden age in the Sixties, included David Medalla and BenCab. Today, it is Asia –- with the Philippines one of its brightest stars -- that is the most exciting region for the arts.

“The gallery intends to present the brave and the new,” said founding partner Ramon G.
