Sending our prayers and love 💐🙏
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.”
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Alejandro. He joined Our Loving Savior on November 5, 2024.
Although the sorrow is great, we also want to celebrate his life, the many wonderful accomplishments and causes he championed unselfishly.
He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. Robert was a vibrant, passionate spirit whose creativity, generosity, and warmth endure in the countless lives he has touched. As a co-founder of papemelroti, his visionary spirit helped shape our brand into what it is today, bringing joy and inspiration to many.

Robert Alejandro has been designing, illustrating and creating, for almost his whole life. It started when he was very young, and his family had a gift shop, “papemelroti”, and he would sculpt clay figurines, and draw and paint things to sell.
After studying in UP taking up Fine Arts, he became a teacher there and mentored many budding artists.
In 1991, he founded along with other artists and illustrators of children’s books, Ang INK, Ang Illustrador ng Kabataan, the Philippine’s first and only organization of artists committed to the creation and promotion of illustration for children.
He has illustrated books, editorials, and has been involved in branding, advertising, outdoor displays, package and product design, visual merchandising, art installation, travel illustration, environmental graphics and space design. He has also done portraiture and has had art exhibits. He has designed and done art from as small as a postage stamp to murals, graphics, and environmental designs for a theme park and gigantic malls (and almost everything in between).
He has done workshops and given talks in the Philippines and abroad.
He has influenced and encouraged many artists in their pursuit of creativity and expressing their own particular talents. In his desire to help Filipino children, he has given free art lessons in the streets and in cemeteries, and has also hosted his own TV show, Art-isKool, where he teaches that art is for everyone and one need not have expensive art materials to be an artist. During the pandemic, he initiated his own Facebook live workshops for kids.
Through the art he has created with papemelroti and renowned projects he was a part of, he will be far from forgotten.
