Seeing how far we've come as a small business owner makes me emotional. All our products are tested on me before I sold them. I am my own lab rat. I made sure that I only share products that I personally use. It was months of sleepless nights, research, a lot of frustration, and crying because success doesn't happen overnight. I thank everyone who first believed in our products and took that chance to try not knowing the results.
We started with zero marketing experience, no influencer outreach, no paid advertisements. We were never good with social media and so all our clients came from the word of mouth. It spread like a wildfire to the point that I was getting thousands of soap orders every month and we made it on national TV. We also made it to Kultura which is really hard to get into. Many times we were asked to supply abroad, but the demand is so high we couldn't push through due to the lack of funds.
I love telling people how I only started with P5k as capital to which I was able to grow my company into 100x more than that.
It wasn't all glamorous. I remember doing it just in one of the rooms in the house having to wake up at 7 in the morning and end work at 3am. Yes, I was still making soaps by myself at 3am crying because I was so exhausted and tired. Fast forward, I was able to afford employees and move into an office in Makati.
Your business' success lies in your hard work, determination, and genuine care for your customers because, without one of these, you will just spiral down.
I hope this inspires other people to take that leap of faith and make your goals happen. You don't need millions to start. All you need is trust in yourself and that nothing is impossible. Work hard then watch all your dreams unfold.
