A Proud Moment for Paete, Laguna and Philippine Art! 🇵🇭

A historic milestone for Philippine art! We proudly celebrate Imelda Cajipe-Endaya, a distinguished artist with roots in Paete, Laguna, for being named the first woman National Artist for Visual Arts.

Her recognition is not only a remarkable achievement for women in the arts, but also a source of pride for Paete—the Carving Capital of the Philippines, a town whose rich artistic tradition continues to inspire generations of Filipino artists.

From the woodcarvers of Paete to artists working across different forms and mediums, our town continues to show the world the depth, creativity, and passion of Filipino artistry.
