The consequence of sin is death. We see death and disease all around us. We stir up conflict with one another and cause destruction in our world. Worst of all, we are spiritually dead in our sins and separated from God.
All of this began when Adam fell into sin. Since then, death has spread to all of humanity. We are not only inclined to rebel against God—we are born into sin, already separated from Him.
The only solution to the consequence of sin is the gift of God through Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
To spare us from death, Jesus Christ died in our place on the cross of Calvary. He was buried and rose to life on the third day.
The result of Christ’s once-and-for-all sacrifice is eternal life—offered to us at no cost, because He paid it all.
Life and a restored relationship with God await all who receive the gospel of the grace of God.
