I’m nursing one baby while my older child sits nearby, quietly watching, and somehow that feels harder than I ever expected.

My older child is watching me. Not asking for anything, just observing as I give something that once belonged only to us. Even though he understands in his own way, I can feel how big this moment is for him, watching me be needed in a way that used to be his.

Some days I feel torn in two. I love them both more than words, yet I can’t give all of myself to both at once, and the guilt creeps in even when I know I’m doing my best.

Breastfeeding with an older child nearby isn’t just about feeding a baby, it’s about holding emotions I didn’t expect, offering reassurance through quiet closeness, and learning to hold two truths at once: that my arms are full, and my heart somehow keeps making more room. 🤱

To the mama whose arms are full and heart feels tender, God sees us, God knows, and God is holding us gently and close. 🙏🫂🤗
