Story time: the plushie he refused to let go 🧸💔
From worn-out to reborn ✨
This project started with a little one who refused to let go of his favorite plushie… even if it was already worn out and falling apart. 🧸💔
(See last photo for the old plushie.)
To others, it might just be an old toy.
But for him, it was comfort. It was home.
So his mom searched and searched for someone who could bring it back to life, someone who could recreate it as close as possible, prioritizing the shape and proportions that her child remembers.
And somehow, that search led to me.
No pattern. No guide. Just pure trial, error, and patience.
I had to figure everything out from scratch, stitch by stitch, just to match something that already meant the world to someone.
This is not just a project… it truly melted my heart knowing the story behind it 🤍
I won’t lie, this one pressured me.
I kept thinking, “What if he doesn’t like it?”
But that same thought pushed me to do better… to get it right.
I wasn’t able to copy every single detail exactly, especially the eyes, since there’s no available plastic eye like the original, but I made sure to stay true to its overall look and feel.
And now… it lives again in crochet form 🤍
As a small gift, I also made two baby ducks, hoping to make him smile even more when he receives it 🐥💛
Thank you for trusting my hands with something so special. 💖
