Step-by-Step Procedure
1️⃣ Prepare the Chicken
- Place each chicken breast between plastic wrap.
- Pound gently with a meat mallet or rolling pin until about ¼ inch thick.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
2️⃣ Assemble the Filling
- Lay 1–2 slices of ham on each flattened chicken breast.
- Place 1–2 slices of cheese on top of the ham.
- Fold in the sides and roll tightly from bottom to top.
- Secure with toothpicks (optional but helpful).
3️⃣ Bread the Chicken
- Prepare three bowls:
- Bowl 1: Flour
- Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
- Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs + paprika
- Roll the chicken in flour → dip in egg → coat in breadcrumbs.
- Press breadcrumbs firmly so they stick well.
4️⃣ Cook the Chicken
🔥 Option A: Pan-Fry (Crispier)
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer to a pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes until fully cooked.
♨️ Option B: Oven-Baked (Healthier)
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Place chicken on a greased baking tray.
- Brush with melted butter or oil.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway.
5️⃣ Serve
- Remove toothpicks carefully.
- Slice diagonally.
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice salad, or steamed veggies.
⭐ Tips for Best Results
- Chill rolled chicken for 15 minutes before breading to keep it tight.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
- Don’t overfill, or cheese may leak.
