🌱Planting is only half the story — trees need love too!🌳

In line with the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026, with the theme "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations", the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay 106 Sto. Niño conducted a Tree Nurturing Activity on August 22, 2026, starting at 5:00 AM at New Kawayan — TACRE.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our Punong Barangay, Hon. Edgar B. Grego, for his unwavering support, and to our SK Chairman, Hon. Lance De Paz, for leading this meaningful initiative.

With the participation of various youth organizations, including the YHES Organization of Brgy. 106, BSPOs, and Mr. and Ms. Sto. Niño winners, we came together to care for and nurture the trees already growing at the site. This activity is part of our shared commitment to empower the youth, strengthen community partnership, and protect our natural resources.

Nurturing trees is just as vital as planting them — every act of care helps them grow strong, thrive, and live on to benefit the community and the environment. Through watering, clearing around the bases, and tending to each tree, we show that our responsibility does not end when a sapling goes into the ground. We stay to ensure it survives and flourishes.

Every tree we care for today stands as a promise for a healthier, greener, and more sustainable tomorrow. Together, we nurture not just trees, but hope for the next generation.

"Every seed nurtured with care grows into a harvest for the whole community. 🌽🌱"

On July 18, 2026, the Youth for Human and Ecological Security (YHES) Organization of Brgy. 106 joined hands with the Barangay 106 Council led by Hon. Edgar Grego, alongside Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Barangay Service Point Officers, and KATROPA volunteers, at the Hapag Garden. We tended to the corn we planted earlier, applying fertilizer to help the crops grow strong and healthy for our community.

This simple work reminds us that food security grows through consistent care, teamwork, and shared responsibility. We are glad to be part of this collective effort to sustain our garden and serve our neighbors.

A clean community is a safe community—one small action protects many lives. 🧹

On June 27, 2026, the Youth for Human and Ecological Security (YHES) Organization of Brgy. 106 joined the community-wide "Search and Destroy" Clean-Up Drive organized by the Barangay 106 Council. Our volunteers carried out the activity within their own households and immediate surroundings—clearing stagnant water, removing accumulated trash, and eliminating potential mosquito breeding grounds.

This initiative aimed to safeguard our families—especially the children—against dengue risks, demonstrate youth commitment to ecological stewardship, and strengthen our bond as one community. We are reminded that meaningful change begins when each of us takes responsibility for the spaces we live in.

"Seeds sown with purpose bear fruit in their own perfect time. 🌱"

On July 5, 2026, the Youth for Human and Ecological Security (YHES) Organization joined the community Pintakasi at the Hapag Garden, Barangay 106 Sto. Niño. We worked side-by-side with the Barangay 106 Council, Barangay Nutrition Scholar, and Barangay Service Point Officers to tend the plots, clear overgrowth, plant various vegetables, and harvest fresh upo from the garden.

This activity upheld the spirit of bayanihan and volunteerism: beyond growing food, we strengthened bonds between youth leaders, local officials, health workers, and service officers, while sharing knowledge on sustainable urban gardening. It was a meaningful reminder that food security and community care are built through collective effort.

The Youth for Human and Ecological Security (YHES) Organization of Brgy. 106 is pleased to share that our President, Cassandra Fate, and Secretary, Precious Jamina A. Ondez, successfully completed the four-day IMPACT+ (Involvement, Motivation, Participation, Activity, Community, Teens) Training held from June 17 to 20, 2026, at Madison Hotel, Manlurip, Tacloban City.

This opportunity was made possible through the kind invitation of World Vision, in coordination with the Tacloban City Population Office, the Tacloban Peer Educators Association, and the Youth for Human and Ecological Security Federation.

The training equipped our officers with enhanced skills in youth mentoring, participatory facilitation, and community problem-solving, anchored on the IMPACT+ framework. These learnings will be applied to strengthen our programs, empower the youth of Barangay 106 Sto. Niño, and advance our mission of building a secure, resilient, and progressive community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all partner institutions for this meaningful capacity-building initiative.

🌍✨ YHES ORGANIZATION | BARANGAY 106 JOINED URBAN BAYANIHAN 2026: UNITING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE ✨🌱

Last April 22, 2026, as we celebrated Earth Day, YHES ORGANIZATION from Barangay 106 proudly joined URBAN BAYANIHAN 2026—a gathering that brought together a powerful community of passionate young leaders, environmental advocates, and changemakers all sharing one common goal: to build a more sustainable and eco-friendly future for everyone.

Hosted at Pacific Point Events Place & Resort, this event transformed into a vibrant and dynamic space filled with meaningful dialogues, innovative ideas, and purpose-driven actions. It became a venue where we connected with fellow youth groups and organizations, exchanging insights and building partnerships that would help us push forward environmental initiatives in our respective communities. Every interaction and activity during the event reminded us that real and lasting change began when people united with a shared vision and collective commitment.

More than just a celebration or a simple gathering, Urban Bayanihan 2026 was a true movement. It proved that climate action became stronger, more effective, and more impactful when it was rooted in community, guided by clear purpose, and powered by the genuine spirit of bayanihan—the Filipino tradition of helping one another.

Through our participation, YHES Organization demonstrated our dedication to being active stewards of the environment. We did not just take part in the celebration; we took meaningful steps forward in protecting our planet and promoting sustainability in our own little ways.

That was just the beginning! We carried this momentum, nurtured the connections we built, and continued creating positive impact that lasted far beyond Earth Day. Together, we kept working for a greener, healthier, and more sustainable world! 💚🤝

✨ YHES ORGANIZATION | BARANGAY 106 JOINED ECONKNOWMICS: ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL LITERACY CARAVAN ✨💚

In response to the Office Memorandum issued by the Office of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Tacloban City, YHES ORGANIZATION from Barangay 106 proudly confirmed our participation in the EconKNOWmics: Economic and Financial Literacy Caravan! 📊💰

This meaningful initiative was organized by the UP Tacloban Economics Society in collaboration with the SK Federation of Tacloban and was hosted through Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay 105. Aligned with the goal of promoting financial literacy and boosting economic awareness among the youth, our organization brought our required delegates to be part of this enriching learning activity.

Held last April 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Barangay 105 Gymnasium, this caravan equipped our young participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in managing personal finances, understanding economic concepts, and making informed financial decisions—tools that are vital as they grow into responsible and resourceful members of our community.

We believed that empowering the youth with financial wisdom is a key step toward community development, and we were deeply grateful for this wonderful opportunity provided by the SK Federation. Our team was fully prepared to learn, engage, and collaborate with fellow youth leaders and participants from Barangays 93, 97, 98, 101, 102, 105, 107, and 108!

Together, we turned financial knowledge into real power! We saw everyone there and made the most out of this valuable experience! 🤝💡💚
