CORDILLERAN CROCHET ARTIST RECEIVES GUINNESS CONFIRMATION FOR WORLD'S LARGEST CROCHET MANDALA

Renowned crochet artist Adelaida Guia has officially announced that the Guinness World Records has accepted her application for the title “Largest Crochet Mandala.”

Guia, who has spent the last three decades crafting massive crochet mandalas, is a familiar figure in Baguio City, where her intricate works have been displayed along Session Road and in local parks.

She submitted her record application in June 2024, aiming to gain international recognition for her six-meter diameter crochet mandala, which weighs 32 kilograms and was crafted using a 5 mm hook.

Guia began working on the piece in July 2024, but was forced to pause in August due to a heart attack. Her journey to recovery was followed by a powerful return to her art in May 2025, where she resumed crocheting in public at the Rose Garden until its completion in June 2025.

After carefully fulfilling all the documentation, guidelines, and requirements, Guia received the official confirmation from Guinness World Records, bringing her closer to securing the prestigious title.
