The Indian and British Colonial Furniture collection by Muhammad Nadeem Iqbal includes Indian antiques and various architectural pieces. British designers have worked closely with high quality Indian craftsmen and have subsequently developed an in-depth understanding of the materials and designs used in this region's classic colonial furniture. Our experience has been used to purchase quality antiques, as well as to produce some of the finest Indian furniture and British Colonial furniture available. Our elegant furniture is mostly made of Sheesham wood The pieces in this collection are designed to become family heirlooms and certain to hold up over the decades. Much of our collection of furniture belongs to the British era. The British, conquered and colonized many regions in the East, left us a valuable heritage in furniture. The early colonizers set up government and army offices along with their homes. Skilled carpenters supplied bureaus with desks, escritoires, bookcases, davenports, chiffoniers etc. For home use, they made cabinets, coffers, tables, chairs - eventually any kind of furnishing - in order to equip the new premises to be serviceable as well as stylish. The unique combination of tropical wood, British style and logical design makes British Colonial furniture practical and desirable even today. Eastern Furniture That Becomes An Instant Classic

Maazi’s vintage and antique furniture includes pieces from the 17 th to the early 20th centuries with origins in the Indian sub-continent, Burma and Nepal . Each piece is unique and original with a certain history, character and warmth. These are made of exceptionally durable and beautiful woods like Camphor, Burma Teak, Black Sheesham and seasoned Rosewood, most of which are quite rare and can only be found in private collections these days. To maintain the character and original patina of each piece, only very minor repairs, if any, and light polishing have been done. The furniture is very well aged and will retain its quality in any climate. If a piece has been repainted or refinished, it is indicated in the product description. Maazi’s original wood era-furniture includes Anglo-Indian style pieces made out of large ornately carved doors and windows obtained from old houses and buildings. We have selectively handpick our inventory and that old and seasoned Rosewood has been used to make television cabinets, bookshelves and other functional pieces, creating modern essentials imbued with the original charm of the reclaimed wood.
