Food deserves a proper arrival.

That walk from the kitchen. The way people look up. When I designed this platter, I was thinking about that exact moment, the table as a stage, and this platter in the spotlight. The centre is hand-hammered, with hand-engraved rims with stunning floral detailing. The feet lift it just enough to say this is special!

The meal ends. The platter remains.

It’s biryani day in our kitchen! ♥️

When I designed our cookware, I was thinking about the full journey, from fire to table. Our hand-hammered copper cookware holds heat evenly through the dum, so the rice finishes perfectly and the gravy doesn’t stick. And then it moves from the kitchen to the centre of the table, doubling as stunning serveware. ♥️

Did you know copper also gives back quietly? It is naturally antimicrobial. Centuries of South Asian wisdom knew this long before science confirmed it.

Here is a pot that does the whole job.

Squares are rigid. Circles are soft. I wanted something in between.

The silhouette is drawn from the chowk — the central courtyard of a Lahori haveli, where four walls meet a circle of open sky. A geometry that is both structured and open. I wanted that same tension on the table.

The centre is hand-hammered, built outward from a single point. The rim is Naqsheen — a hand-engraving tradition from the Walled City where the tool never lifts until the pattern is complete. Two techniques. Two rhythms. One surface.

The hammered centre is never perfectly symmetrical. That slight drift is where the artisan’s hand corrected itself mid-motion. The most human part of the piece, invisible unless you know to look.

Human by Design.

A hammer, a needle and a sheet of brass. That’s what it takes to create magic.

Our Lahore workshop runs on the love for craft, patience and a belief that metal has the potential to become something indispensable. Something new is taking shape.

Can you guess what it’s becoming? ♥️

Some things are made to last.

I grew up around objects that meant something. Brass in my grandmother’s kitchen, copper that outlasted everything else. When I walked away from my nine-to-five, I went looking for that feeling again. Something made by hand. Something made to be kept.

That search became Maeraas.

Still building. Still becoming.

Three weeks of preparation. Two days of packing. Four hours setting up. The setup looked like this. And then a thunderstorm had other plans. We’re okay. Everything that matters made it out. We will be back.
