Found in Karachi

These sculptures began as fragments of wood I found across Karachi, pieces left behind after trees were cut for construction, roots pulled from the earth, remnants from workshops, and wood destined to eventually disappear as fuel.

Some carry the marks of fire.
Some bear the scars of time, insects and weather.
Some have grown into forms that resemble bodies, animals and landscapes. And in some, there are markings that feel almost impossible to explain.

I did not carve these forms into the wood. I found them there.

My intervention was simply to notice them, preserve them, and give them a new context, elevating what had been discarded onto stone, another material drawn from the earth.

Each sculpture is therefore more than an object. It is a fragment of a place, an event and a life that existed before I encountered it.

An archive of Karachi, told through what the city left behind.

The Art Of Making

This console began its journey in a lumber yard, discarded because of its irregular form, voids, and imperfections. What drew me to it was precisely what made it unwanted, the character carved into it by time, growth, and nature itself.
The process was not about forcing a design onto the material, but rather discovering the design already hidden within it. Each decision was guided by the wood’s inherent rhythm.
The final composition is an exploration of balance and contrast. The dramatic negative space becomes as important as the mass itself, creating visual movement while maintaining harmony and stability.

This masterpiece is on display at .
