The new Zara Shahjahan store in Gulberg is imagined as a contemporary expression of Lahore - a city where layers of history, craft and everyday life continually overlap. The design draws from the material language of the city: woven brickwork reinterprets the weathered masonry of the walled city also an ode to the art of weaving itself. Repurposed, hand-crafted terracotta tiles introduce the warmth and tactility of Lahore’s architectural traditions into a contemporary setting.
A recurring eight-petal motif forms the visual thread throughout the store, drawing inspiration from the botanical and geometric vocabulary of Mughal ornamentation. It appears across the marble screens, floor detailing and other elements of the interior, creating a quiet continuity between architecture and fashion. ZARA SHAHJAHAN
