A typical early medieval round shield with a iron boss and rim clamp fittings. An 85 cm joy to complete your kosher kits or a 3.2 kg weight to give your overworked wrists a rest during festival sparring ⚔️

▪️ Planks: alder wood, 8 mm thick, tapered to 3-4 mm at the rim
▪️ Dimensions: 85 cm diameter
▪️ Weight: 3250 g
▪️ Veneer: thin goat leather parchment (front), bone glue
▪️ Forged elements: iron boss, nails, washers, rim clamps
▪️ Rim: 1-1.5 mm parchment skin, glued
▪️ Handle: ash

Hey, I haven't been here for a long time, unfortunately the amount of current work makes it difficult for me to update posts regularly. Forgive me. However, I will try to share something from time to time.

Today, one of my first 13th century shields took part in the unveiling of the restored monument of Duke Mieszko I of Cieszyn - a local historical ruler from my area.

Here are greetings to friends from the , even small initiatives that take care of local historical memory are very pleasing!
