7 weeks minus two days. That was a durability test, and I'm already fed up with these nails 🤣
These are Press-On Nails, handmade artificial nails glued with acrylic to test the durability of such an application.
My impressions?
I'll apply the next ones a little differently. In this case, I applied the acrylic to a prepared natural nail plate, and the next ones I'll prepare by applying the acrylic to the plate but also a thin layer to the tips to better bond the acrylic.
Why? Because after a month, one nail on my left hand started peeling off, and I keep catching it with nail glue. About a week ago, one on my right hand started peeling off too. So I suspect that using acrylic in a different way will be even more durable.
Of course, I don't recommend wearing your nails for 7 weeks, as I did, because it's neither aesthetically pleasing nor comfortable, but tests are tests, and you have to be honest.
So, in summary.
These have too much gel; they're a bit too thick, but in the next posts you'll see more I've made, where I used less gel, so they're still durable but slimmer.
Acrylic worked perfectly as an adhesive for press-on nails. Remember not to apply it over gel, as the gel won't harden under the color and could lead to allergies.
Overall, I really like the idea of press-on nails and I wonder if it won't become a new trend, not only among individuals but also in nail salons. We'll be discussing this here on my social media for the next few months 😁
Seriously, do you think this will catch on in Poland? Or will it remain a trend only in the US?
