1️⃣ I ditched MDF.
I stopped using materials that look “tired” over time (vinyl wrap, veneer that picks up scratches and chips). I build cabinets from natural wood + epoxy resin, because it gives rigidity, durability, and a premium look for years. ✨🪵

2️⃣ I stopped believing in “specs on paper” and chose Scan-Speak Classic.
The character of the sound comes from the drivers. Scan-Speak gives me the quality I can tune around, so the result is detailed, natural, and never fatiguing. 🔊🎶

3️⃣ I started hand-tuning the crossover for these exact drivers and this exact cabinet.
No “universal” off-the-shelf networks. I match bands, phase, and balance in real listening, because the crossover decides whether a speaker plays coherently or like “each driver on its own.” 🎚️👂

4️⃣ I designed the cabinet so it can be refinished.
The finish is chosen so that if you get scratches, you can do a light sand + a fresh coat, instead of replacing the whole cabinet. 🛠️🖤

5️⃣ I stopped treating a speaker as “audio gear.”
It should finish a space like a great table or lamp: proportions, wood texture, resin depth, details. It should elevate the interior not intimidate it. 🏠✨

“This is art. Absolutely a piece of art.” – that’s how .konopka.official , a Polish actor, talks about his Skathi Black Oak speakers. 🎭🔊

The interior of his home is anything but random – paintings, art, carefully curated details. You can see everything has been thought through, largely thanks to Łukasz’s wife, who is an interior architect. It’s obvious that the way the speakers look mattered a lot here. 🖼️✨

Each of these speakers looks different: black oak and black resin, the pattern of the grain like a painting, and on one of them a shape that resembles a fern leaf. 🌿
This is not mass production – it’s a unique piece of art that also happens to sound amazing.

When asked what he would say to people who are still hesitating, he answers simply:

“It’s the most wasted time in your life, the time when you spent considering the purchase.”

Most people, when choosing new speakers, still start with the price and spec sheet instead of how they actually want to live with the sound and design. 📊

And then they spend years looking at black MDF boxes in the living room 🖤📦 wondering why “something is still missing”, even though everything looked perfect on paper.

That’s why, as someone who builds speakers, I’ll tell you straight what I would not do when choosing speakers for my own home:

❌ 1. I wouldn’t start with the spec sheet.
Paper will take anything. You can have watts, hertz and a big logo, and still feel nothing when you sit down to listen. Sound that doesn’t move you is just a more expensive background noise. 🎧

❌ 2. I wouldn’t pick speakers that fight with the interior.
If every time you walk into the living room, all you see are “black boxes by the wall”, sooner or later you’ll want to get them out of there – no matter how they measure. 🛋️

❌ 3. I wouldn’t buy “for now”.
Every such compromise ends the same way: another listing on the used market and yet another search for “something better”. You lose time, money, and the joy of listening. ⏳💸

💡 What to do instead?
Pause for a moment and ask yourself three simple questions:
– Are design and sound equally important to me?
– How will these speakers look in my actual interior?
– Will I still enjoy listening to them and looking at them a few years from now?

Only then start looking for solutions – even if it means waiting for a project built around you, instead of driving home with something random off the shelf.
