[PL BELOW] Vincent Decat, Paris, France
He develops his practice from experiments with ready-made industrial components towards forms that combine digital technologies, industrial processes and hand finishing. The distinctive morphology of his work emerges through shifted proportions, unusual distributions of mass and surfaces subjected to further treatment after 3D printing.
A turning point came with Semi-made, his diploma project completed at Design Academy Eindhoven in 2023, in which bicycle clamps, pneumatic fittings, hydraulic connectors and brake discs were removed from their industrial context and assembled into new sculptural configurations. Drawing on Marcel Duchamp’s practice, Decat is less interested in the gesture of selecting a ready-made element than in how a change of context and function can give it new meaning.
Selected works by Vincent are now available through maybel.pl, with secure international shipping.

Punktem zwrotnym pozostaje Semi-made, dyplom ukończony w Design Academy Eindhoven w 2023 roku, w którym zaciski rowerowe, złączki pneumatyczne, przyłącza hydrauliczne i tarcze hamulcowe zostały wyjęte z przemysłowego kontekstu i zestawione w nowych, rzeźbiarskich układach.
