A new lease of life for these beautiful sofas.
These pieces arrived looking tired, neglected and in desperate need of some love but underneath the worn upholstery was something very special.
Built with a beautiful teak frame and an incredibly solid cedar internal structure, these sofas were absolutely worth saving. The craftsmanship and quality of the original construction mean they have the potential to last for many more decades.
The truth is, refurbishing an old sofa isn’t always the most sustainable or economical option. Many modern sofas are made with lower-quality internal materials, and once the structure begins to deteriorate, restoration can mean completely rebuilding the piece from the inside out.
These, however, were a different story.
The teak simply needed some care and attention, while the upholstery was in poor condition but could be completely transformed. With the structure still exceptionally solid, we were able to breathe new life into them rather than send two beautifully made pieces to landfill.
From neglected and stained to fresh, elegant and ready for their next chapter.
Good design is worth preserving. Good craftsmanship is worth investing in. And sometimes, all something needs is the chance to be beautiful again.
