Historic Canvases by Loermans & Lab O Helena Loermans, founder of Lab O, member of ICOM,
member of CIETA. www.labo.pt Helena Loermans: My weaving studio is in the historic center of Odemira.

Lab O, laboratory for handwoven canvases exists since 2017 with the mission
to recover and share the knowledge of historic canvases. I am a passionate hand weaver and love to work both with traditional yarn, cashmere and linen, as well as with functional yarn like a temperature regulating wool. My studio is open for students who want to do a masterclass or for young entrepreneurs who want to see

how to run a craft studio. Lab O , laboratory for handwoven canvas is located in my studio. Marta Pokojowczyk: painter, art historian. My studio is located in Wrocław. Handwoven flax and hemp canvases are a basis for my painting interferences with powder pigment, entitled “The Way”. I also use the loom to design handwoven constructions, so called “paintings out of frames”. These linen, hemp and woolen textiles may appear in an interior architecture as individual objects or to create complex compositions. The idea to start a joined project popped up in 'Helena Loermans Handwoven Textiles' Atelier in Odemira, during the European exchange programme ‘Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs’.

"Online course featuring two projects undertaken by ARCHiVe, alongside other case studies: the digitisation of the Palazzo Cini Gallery (47 panel paintings) and the digitisation of a painting by Jacopo Tintoretto from the collections of the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice (The Creation of the Animals, 1550-1553). The course offers a detailed examination of the digital recording of these works and the investigative opportunities afforded through the three-dimensional digital recording of painting surfaces and supports. Furthermore, the course shares the outcomes of the reconstruction of The Crucifixion by the Master of Lamentation from Lindau in Utrecht and the recreation of historical textile patterns derived from digital analyses of pictorial surfaces on both panel and canvas."
